Managing Fast and Slow Thinking
Featuring Jeni Yelton
Are you a fast thinker or a slow thinker? How does thinking impact your ability as a leader? Fast thinking (dubbed System 1 b Kahneman) is unconscious, emotional, instinctive. Fast thinking results in snap judgements and, sometimes prejudice. Slow thinking (System 2) is what most of us would consider actual thought: conscious, deliberative, and primarily rational.
Jeni Yelton is Director - Learning & Development for Relation Insurance Services. Jeni has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles, and a diverse range of companies including Disney, Vanguard Airlines and Concorde Colleges. Her primary focus is on employee development and encouraging adults to communicate successfully to perform effectively. Jeni achieved her Master's in Adult Learning and Leadership from Kansas State University and her Bachelors in Human Resources, focused in Organizational Development from Ottawa University. Jenni would tell you that she is an Adult Learning Theorist first and foremost. When not developing others, she is writing a book on positivity and communication.
