Diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives are essential actions for organizations committed to dismantling systemic oppression, discriminatory workplace cultures, and strengthening service equity. Ensuring DEIA initiatives are geared towards implementing substantive actions is imperative to the success of the organizations transformative change goals. LaDonna McCullough will discuss organizational readiness for equity change and what it means in her role as the first Chief Equity Officer for the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

Speaker Bio

Ms. McCullough was recently hired as Chief Equity Officer, to lead the newly formed Office of Racial Equity and Reconciliation for the City of Kansas City,Missouri. In this new role, McCullough will lead efforts to review and revise policies which will promote equity and equality within Kansas City's internal structure and throughout the city. In addition, she will lead a task force established to ensure that the city is using innovative approaches to address race and equity. Ms. McCullough is currently finishing her interdisciplinary PhD in Educational Leadership Policy & Foundations, Disability Leadership and Social Science Consortium at UMKC, where she also earned her bachelors and masters degrees. McCullough has led and consulted on DEIA for nonprofits, educational institutions and government entities throughout the country.
